It's Always November (Event Recap & Photo Gallery)

Kylla A. L. Pate

It’s been an exciting year for the November Media Publishing family, and this past November 18th, the company hosted its first ever author meet and greet at Open Books in the west loop of Chicago.

This event, affectionately titled, “It’s Always November” featured book excerpt readings from several November Media authors, including Debra Williamson, April Henderson, Cheryl Fonteh, Tatianah Green, and Nikeya Young. Attending audience members also got to see an inclusive, up close and personal interview with up and coming author, Alaina Carpenter, and Do It With Dignity author Julius X. Van Hook.

As many of the November Media authors reside in other states, the team was happy to welcome authors who traveled in just for the event. This was also the first time a lot of the authors met each other in person.

“It was a pleasure to meet everyone and hear each author’s journey and story!” says, April Henderson, author of A Letter to You.

In addition to meeting the authors and hearing excerpts from each book, the event also featured exciting giveaways, a chance the meet the November Media Publishing team, and the chance to talk individually with each author about their book and work.

At the closing of the event, Founder and CEO Tiheasha Beasley states that she’s already excited for the next time they can host an event like this.
